I updated my database and I still get the old valve

Cause:

Bad / old file is still stored locally. 
Solution:

Prior to using the new valve you will need to delete a couple of things in order for it to reload to your machine.

Note the xx …replace with your version(year) of Revit. In this example, we will be deleting and replacing the 6 Reliable ALARM VALVE

Browse to \HES\hydratec for revit\Data\Families\20xx\IMPERIAL and delete this file, 6 Reliable ALARM VALVE FF E REL (4A0100FF60).rfa

Open a Revit project and go to the “Project Browser”

Under Pipe Accessories , delete the same object as shown above.

Once these 2 items are deleted, the new device with the correct diameter connections will inserted the next time you select it under “Add Device”.
