AutoCAD Based Piping (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Rapid Line

Description:

When trying to break in a rapid pipe/rapid line/rapid main, it will not tee into a pipe.  In the image below, it is not showing the break in triangle.

Solutions:

1.
Cause:

Non-zero Z coordinate on the pipe you're trying to break in.

Solution:

You may have to do this for all four pipe types (mains, lines, underground, & armovers)...

Select a single pipe to expose its grips, right-click and select 'Select Similar'.  This will pick ALL the lines in that layer.

Right-click again and select 'Properties'

In the PROPERTIES window, set all Start Z and End Z values to 0 (zero).  Even if they already show 0, enter 0 anyway

2.
Cause:

Crosshairs are not set to zero.  Crosshair angle was set using SNAPANG command or by rotating the UCS.

Solution:

The proper method to rotate crosshairs is the SXH command, then select a line object at the non-zero angle

IMPORTANT

When resetting the crosshairs back to zero, use RXH.  DO NOT use SXH then select a 'flat' line.  Murphy's Law says it'll be the one line not really drawn at zero.
