Revit Based HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Add Device Function: Select Error Type: Revit could not complete the external command.

Description:

Command failure for External Command... Revit could not complete the external command

Solutions:

Cause:

While attempting to create the selected device, a problem with the geometry occurred causing the fitting creation to cease which placed a corrupt temporary dwg file that could not be deleted due to the routine failing to complete its process.
Solution:

Using “File Explorer” browse to C:\HES\Temp and delete the dwg file that matches the part # you were trying to select. Replace C: with a different drive letter depending on where you have Hydratec for Revit software installed. 

It is okay to delete all the “Part number” dwg files from this folder if desired

  1. The part number of the Valve that is giving you the error (Pictured below circled in red)
  2. If possible, a picture of the error it gives you.
