AutoCAD Based Sprinklers (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Insert Sprinkler Error Type: 0

Description:

When trying to insert a sprinkler head, this window pops up;

Pick head insertion point. Pick any point besides endpoint to break into pipe. Can't find file in search path

Solutions:

Cause:

In this case, we get this error message where it's having a problem with HEAD1.dwg

Unknown but likely the head definintion box has become corrupt
Solution:

1. Start the SSP command.

 

2. Select HEAD1 (since that’s the one it’s having problems with) and DELETE DEFININTION.

 

Click YES to undefine it.

 

 

Redefine HEAD1.

Cause:

A customized sprinkler head symbol included a space in the file name. 

 

In the case above, although the error mentioned "head7.dwg", the actual filename was "head7 concealed.dwg".
Solution:

Spaces are not to be used in sprinkler head filenames.  Use a dash or underscore, eg. Head7_concealed or Head7-Concealed.

 

You will likely have to delete all the head definition boxes (blue boxes in the ACC1 layer) which reference the sprinkler head with the space.  Then redefine the sprinkler head after the filenames have been fixed.
