Button: Check Elevation Error Type: Fatal Error

Description:

When attempting to use the Check Elevation tool, you get a fatal error


Solutions:

1.
Cause:

Likely due to corrupt deflines
Solution:
  1. Use the AUDIT command (answer YES to fix errors. 
  2. Run the REGROUP command (HCAD_REGROUPDEFLINES) to check for errors
  3. Find any deflines with red error circles.  Erase and re-insert those deflines.

In this case, it's best to re-insert all the bad deflines rather than copying them.all over the place.
2.
Cause:

Drawing may be outside of reasonable limits
Solution:

Check the coordinates of your drawing and confirm you're not using ridiculous coordinates away from 0,0.

In this case, the drawing was located 17.5 million km away from 0,0.  Literally, halfway to Venus.

Once everything is resettled closer to 0,0, erase and purge all TOS blocks from the drawing, then re-insert and try again.
