Revit Based HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Spacing and Layout Function: Insert Sprinklers Error Type: Revit could not complete the external command.

Description:

Revit could not complete the external command.     System.NullReferenceException

Solutions:

Cause:

The area chosen for inserting sprinklers is way out of bounds.  In one case the spacing area was 35000' west and 6000' south of 0,0.  So the spacing mathematics get confused by those really big numbers

Solution:

Move the link (that defines the spacing area)  back into range.  A technique for finding a good place to move the linked backgrounfd to is:

Before you link the link the back ground, draw a large rectangle in the middle of the beginning view of your model.  You can then find and use that rectangle after you insert the refernced link and move the link to a point near that rectaangle.  You may subsequently remove the triangle.  It would be best to move an specified amount in each direction so that information could later be shared with other colaborators.
