Standalone HydraCALC (Location)
Description:
**Trying to calculate a job which was generated from HydraCAD**, you get this error on the first attempt to calculate;
'disconnected pipe'
If this job was generated by HydraCAD and you haven't edited any of the data yet still get this erro, you likely have a very long grid (mains), shorter grid lines, and you did NOT label the nodes with custom reference points along the mains. You're relying on the computer to label the nodes.
If you did enough, you'll also notice some gridlines will not have reference points on them due to pressure balancing at each end of the gridline and therefore the program not needing to document/include them. This is due to the fact you're relying on the compter to include them.
Your best bet is to start over from Hcad. In HydraCAD, close the CALCULATION SETUP window in HydraCAD first, then close the HydraCALC window without saving.
In the drawing, use the RP command (reference points) and 'Rapid Reference Points' to label your intersections of all mains and respective gridlines.
Doing this will ensure each gridline gets nodes in the calculation (whether or not there's a pressure change along the gridline) and prevent the 'disconnected pipe' error message in HydraCALC.
