AutoCAD Based Launching HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Error Type: Hydratec Security File Load Error (-5001)

Description:

Error -5001 in HydraCAD.  When opening Hydracad, it gives the following error:

Hydracad, doesn’t function properly thereafter.

Solutions:


1.
Cause:

This is caused by a failure to load the following file in this version of HydraCAD: 

<DRIVE LETTER>:\HES\HydraCAD\Ver50\Programs\VersionXX\HCadMainBase.arx

This can be caused by having the wrong version of the file or the file is blocked by windows.

Solution:

 Go to <DRIVE LETTER>:\HES\HydraCAD\Ver50\Programs\VersionXX,  where "XX" equals the version of HydraCAD you are trying to open.

Find the file HCadMainBase and right click it, choose Properties:

If it has the option to "Unblock" , then choose this option, hit Ok, and reopen HydraCAD.

If this doesn't work, right click <DRIVE LETTER>:\HES\HydraCAD\Ver50\Programs\VersionXX\HCadMainBase.arx Again.  Go to Details and see if the version number of the file matches the version of Hydracad (as indicated by the VersionXX folder).


If it does not, close all Hydratec products, reinstall the product in question.

Cause:

Another cause can be a failure to find the HCADMainBase.arx in the proper version folder because of a faulty "Support File Search Path" in your Hydracad profile in the AutoCAD Options menu.

Solution:

From AutoCad Tools Menu, choose "Options"

In this example, we are using HydraCAD version 57.   So the path displayed has a Version57 at the end of it.   You should have ONE path only to the HydraCAD software in your list of "Support File Search Path" and it should match your version.  If you are using HydraCAD version 56, it will end in Version56.  Version 55 will end with Version55. In the Options/Files Tab,   It should look as follows:

Cause:

This can be caused by a failure to load or find a dependency of HcadMainBase.arx: 

<DRIVE LETTER>:\Windows\System32\HydexVB64.dll

This can be caused by having the wrong version of the file or the file is blocked by windows.

Solution:

Browse in Windows Explorer to the file.  Right Click and choose properties.

If there is an option to "Unblock" the file, checkmark it and hit ok.  Try opening Hydracad again.

If that still fails or the file is missing from the System32 folder, you'll need to Reinstall / Install HydraKEY on this machine.   Download the install from the following link:

https://hydrakey-public.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/HydraKeyInstall.exe

Close all Hydratec products on your machine, then right click "Run as Administrator" on the file that was downloaded.

 

 


4.
Cause:

This can be caused by a failure to load a dependency of HcadMainBase.arx: 

<DRIVE LETTER>:\Windows\System32\HydexVB64.dll

This file depends on a Microsoft Redistributable that may be missing from your machine:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable x64

Solution:

Google the following string "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable x64"

to find the most recent location of the Microsoft C++ redistributable online.   Download and install the file, restart windows, then attempt to open HydraCad again.
