AutoCAD Based Launching HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)
Description:
When trying to get into HydraCAD, you get this error message.
Your HCAD_ENV.INI file is corrupted.
This is found in the \HES\HYDRACADWER50\PROGRAMS\VersionXx
folder where XX is the version you are using. Please copy this file from
a working machine and reopen HydraCAD or contact Hydratec for
assistance
AutoCAD or the computer was closed unexpectedly and a file which must be rewritten upon close was corrupted or deleted altogether.
Close HydraCAD, then, as the error message indicates, delete the existing file "C:\HES\HydraCAD\Ver50\Programs\Versionxx\HCAD_ENV.INI" and copy one from another computer onto this computer.
A second session of HydraCAD is trying to be opened, with two versions of AutoCAD.
(ie, HydraCAD v57 with AutoCAD 2022 is already open, but user is trying to also open Hcad v57 with Acad 2023)
Don't do that.
Possibly due to a attempting to open a corrupt drawing
Try this;
1. Open AutoCAD/HydraCAD by double-clicking on the desktop icon (DO NOT double-click a .DWG file)
2. Start a new drawing using a template
3. Try to open the problem drawing
If you get the error only at step 3, then your drawing is likely corrupt. Attempts to AUDIT or RECOVER the drawing may not work, so it's likely the drawing is beyond recoverable.
