AutoCAD Based Launching HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Error Type: None

Description:

Opening a drawing is taking a long time.  The process is very slow.

Solutions:

Cause:

1. Network connection is slow

 

2. AutoCAD is being launched via Windows Explorer (older problem)

 

3. Dell Power Settings is hindering performance to avoid overheating

Solution:

1. If using a network connection, copy the file to the local drive, specifically the C:\Drawings folder and try to open the drawing from there.

 

2. This is an older issue... but see if launching AutoCAD via its desktop icon, then opening the drawing via the START tab or from [File|Open].  

 

3. Thermal settings in Dell Power Settings were trying to keep the computer surface cool and thereby had the processor throttling the CPU down to 0.8 GHz.  Adjust accordingly...
