AutoCAD Based Installation (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Error Type: Other

Description:

During the install of HydraCAD the following message(s) pop up;

  

"Unable to Create HydraCAD Shortcut" "Unable to find registry,"

"HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AutoCAD.Drawing.#\protocol\StdFileEditing\server"

The version of AutoCAD will determine the number following the word 'Drawing' in the registry path.

AutoCAD 2022 = 24.1

AutoCAD 2021 = 24.0

AutoCAD 2020 = 23.1

AutoCAD 2019 = 23.0

AutoCAD 2018 = 22.0

"Unable to find default profile" "The default profile 'HydraCADVersion56' 'HydraCADVersion57' does not exist.

Solutions:

1.
Cause:

Possible the default profile of <<unnamed profile>> was not created in AutoCAD. 
Solution:

After installing AutoCAD, open it once, make sure you can "do stuff" (eg. draw a line and erase it), then close AutoCAD and try the install again.
2.
Cause:

Possible it was a corrupt install of AutoCAD
Solution:

Use the Windows Control Panel|Add/Remove Programs and use the REINSTALL option of AutoCAD.  Make sure to reboot when complete.  Try the HydraCAD install again.
3.
Cause:

Possible the registry value is truly missing.
Solution:

Not recommended unless you're certain you're 100% comfortable editing your registry...

Open the Windows Registry and locate this path;

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AutoCAD.Drawing.##\protocol\StdFileEditing\server

AutoCAD 2022 = 24

AutoCAD 2021 = 24

AutoCAD 2020 = 23

AutoCAD 2019 = 23

AutoCAD 2018 = 22

There should be a path indicating the shortcut to the Acad.exe.

Create the path then try the install again.
