Standalone HydraCALC (Location)

Button: Open Error Type: Corrupt .WXF

Description:

When opening a specific cac file you get this error

Other calc files open fine

Solutions:

1.
Cause:

File resides on Onedrive and is not downloaded to the local drive, even if it's copied to a local drive and folder.

Solution:

Open the file in Notepad.  Right-click it and select 'Open With Notepad'.

This should be a legible text file.  If it is blank or looks like it's encrypted, see below.

In your web browser (Edge/Firefox/Chrome), log into your Onedrive account and file the file(s) in question.  Download them to your local hard drive and try again.

Thanks Linda F!

2.
Cause:

When the file was saved and closed, the user used a fitting which has a fitting curve instead of a fixed value.  Unfortunately the diameter was  left blank, so the program didn't properly save the file and it got cut off at that fitting and crashed out without any warning

Solution:

Using Windows Notepad, open the .WXF file in question, then add the following FIVE lines of code;

SECTION
REPORTS
MARKER
EOD
blank line, *meaning <enter> was pressed after 'EOD'*

Make sure there is a blank line under EOD.  Save the file then close Notepad.

Then, the file can be opened in HydraCALC, BUT you must find and make sure any entries using fitting curves have an associated diameter.

The file can then be saved.
