Security and Licensing HydraKEY (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: None Function: Open Error Type: 102: Error reading entry point

Description:

Solutions:

Cause:

User Installed HydraKey to their account with insufficient rights.

Solution:

Please download the “HYDRAKEY INSTALL” from:

  1. https://hydrakey-public.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/HydraKeyInstall.exe
  2. Whatever folder that goes into,  if you’ve downloaded this several times, make sure to use the newest one:

  1. With All virus software turned off, right click on and run the most recent HydraKey Install as administrator.

You should no longer recieve any 102 errors.

If you do, Complete the following steps:

Go to C:\Windows\System32 and confirm that the date on “HydexVB64.dll” is from June 2020 or later:

Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and confirm that the date on “HydexVB3.dll” is from June 2020 or later:

If either of these is from before June of 2020, rename them to something else, so the install can install them.

1.) Open HydraKey and hit the license info button:

2.) Ensure your version is the same or higher than the highlighted one below.

If the ALPS Temporary pass is “EXPIRED” you’ll need another serial number from Hydratec to enable your software.

3.) If the version is not higher than above, then rename the HYDRAKEY folder at C:\HES\HYDRAKEY

4.) Rerun as administrator the most recent "HydraKey Install" you've already downloaded.

5.) Both HydraKEY and all other hydratec software should no longer get 102 errors.
