Revit Based HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Import Clashes

Description:

The function sort of worked but there were way more clashes in Navisworks than showed up in Revit.

-or-

Creating a .nwc file exports for Navisworks with "Convert Element ID's" box checked from Revit does not respect the ID in Revit proper.  These element’s ID in Navisworks and Revit are different for the same element.

Solutions:

Cause:

The txt file out from Navisworks does not include the proper object IDs - the autodesk description of the problem look like this::

Causes:

In Navisworks, when you select an item in the view, the selection resolution setting determines what level in the model hierarchy you are selecting. For example, if you have the selection resolution set to geometry, and you select an item, you would be selecting the piece of geometry rather than the entire object with its properties. The default setting is set to “Last Object,” so the lowest level object in the selection tree for that items path will be selected.
Unfortunately, the selection resolution cannot be changed for items in clash results and Last Object is used. It is likely the case that the Element ID in your clash report is for an element slightly lower in the Selection Tree hierarchy than the actual Revit element in the 3D view that can have its Element ID searched on.

Solution:

Please try the following:
1. In Navisworks, load your NWC from Revit
2. Select the application button and click options.
3. Expand Interface > Selection
4. Set the selection resolution to First Object.
5. Click ok to close the option editor
6. Open Clash Detective > Results tab
7. Pick one of the results.
8. In the properties window (Home >Display > Properties) click the Element ID tab
