AutoCAD Based Launching HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)
Description:
Launching AutoCAD causes a hard system crash as it loads some HydraCAD
plugins, the last one seen is HCADMainBase.arx. The machine
crashes every time — it does not reach the AutoCAD interface. When HydraCAD is
uninstalled, AutoCAD launches and runs normally with no crashes.
Windows Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) seems to be the culprit
Disabling Intel Virtualization Technology
(VT-x) in the BIOS - which turns off Windows Virtualization-Based Security
(VBS) / the Hypervisor - stops the crash completely. AutoCAD now launches and
runs with the HydraCAD plugins loaded, no blue screen.
