Error Type: Unhandled Exception

Description:

When opening Hydracad you get the following error:

Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your

application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error

and attempt to continue.

 

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID

{44D62FAE-67A7-4131-BF38-489CDFE44738} failed due to the

following error: 80070005 Access is denied. (Exception from

HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)).

Solutions:

Cause:

The 2026 and beyond version of the install registers Dao32Server as a Windows service, and your authentication level is not high enough to get into it.  The install should have set it to allow all users but has failed for some reason.
Solution:

·         Close down all hydratec software on your machine.

·         Download this install:   Hydra DAO FIX FILE

·         Right click and run the downloaded install as Administrator.

·         Open Hydracad again and confirm it’s working.

·         If it fails, close down all Hydratec products.  Then type ‘services’ at the windows search field in the taskbar.  Under services find Dao32Server and right click on it.  Select ‘stop’ and wait for the status bar to complete.  Reopen Hydracad. This will restart the service with the new settings. 


·         If it still fails, close all Hydratec products , ‘stop’ the Dao32Server service as described above, &  download and run this .reg file as administrator.  Open Hydracad again. It should now give you no error.
