Standalone HydraCALC (Location)

Button: Calculate

Description:

No error but the calculation process takes a very long time and is slow.

The process hangs and usually the RAM runs up to 100%.  You'll likely hear the computer's fan rev up.

Solutions:

1.
Cause:

• If using a Dell computer, the Dell Optimizer application is not optimizing the way we need it to.

Solution:

• Try turning it off, however you may have to repeat this process in a few weeks as it'll turn itself on.

Otherwise uninstall the Dell Optimizer.  Go to the Control Panel then Add/Remove programs.  Uninstall the Dell Optimizer

2.
Cause:

• HydraCALC may need to be run as Administrator, one-time only or permanently.

Solution:

• Right-click the HydraCALC icon and select 'run as administrator'.  Open a calc file with a pump via [File|Open].  If it calcs normally, close HydraCALC then double-click the icon to open it normally then open a job via [File|Open] to test.  If it works, you're fine.

If not, right-click the icon, select PROPERTIES, select the COMPATIBILITY tab, then select 'Run this program as administrator' then OK.

3.
Cause:

• Two of the cores of the processor as well as "hyperthreading" were disabled from the factory in the Bios.

Solution:

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Start the computer, then repeatedly hit the F2 key until you see the BIOS control window pop up.

3. Go to [Performance|Multi Core Support] and set your value to ALL

4. Go to [Performance|HyperThread control] then click ENABLED

5. Click OK then EXIT.

6. After the computer boots up, go to the [Control Panel|Programs] and uninstall the Dell Optimizer
