HydraCARDs | Running HydraCAD commands do not work in one drawing, but will work in a different drawing in the same session of AutoCAD/HydraCAD. Inserting a pipe dimesion gives an 'unknown command' message.

AutoCAD Based Opening a Drawing (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Description:

Running HydraCAD commands do not work in one drawing, but will work in a different drawing in the same session of AutoCAD/HydraCAD.

Inserting a pipe dimesion gives an 'unknown command' message.

Solutions:

Cause:

HydraCAD .DLLs are not being loaded when the drawing is opened. A bad object in the drawing is making the DLL and Lisp load fail partway through

Open the drawing again and once loaded, press F2 to view the Command Window

You should see the message; HydraCAD loaded and ready to go.

With the error, it may look like this;

Hangers Loaded
Drawpipe Loaded
Couplings Loaded
Dmnpipe Loaded._-layer _on text,sprnks ; error: bad argument type: stringp nil
*Cancel*

Command:

Solution:

The drawing had a blank sprinkler head 'blue box'.

Find the empty block named "blkrdef1" and erase it from the drawing. You will likely have to save the drawing, close Acad, re-open the drawing and try again. You will likely have an undefined sprinkler head too which will need to be redefined.
