Standalone HydraCALC (Location)

Button: Print Final Error Type: Runtime Error

Description:

When trying to [Print|Final] in HydraCALC, the user gets a Runtime Error 5, "Invalid Procedure Call or Argument".  HydraVIEW does not open and after clicking OK, HydraCALC crashes.

 

Solutions:

1.
Cause:

Likely due to possibly due to end-user policy restrictions on the computer because HydraCALC is not allowed to open HydraVIEW . 
Solution:

TEST:

1. Open stand-alone HydraVIEW, you can find it under [Windows START|Hydratec Version 50 Software|HydraVIEW]

If it opens, we've proven that the program is working.  Close HydraVIEW

 

2. Right-click the HydraCALC icon on the desktop and select 'run as administrator'.

 

3. Go to [File|Open] and open this job; 

"C:\HES\HydraCALC\Ver50\Data\Jobs\Example Jobs\"     "Hydratec Example Tree.wxf"

 

4. First calc the job and then [File|Print Final]

 

If this works, this proves some sort of restriction is on the computer.  You'll have to get your IT department to allow the program to run normally.   Neither of these programs are required to be 'run as administrator'.

Cause:

Solution:

You can also try this, but it may require a password each time HydraCALC is opened.

Right-click the HydraCALC icon then select 'Properties'.  Go to the COMPATIBILITY tab and select 'run this program as administrator
