Revit Based Installation (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Addin Assistant Error Type: Unhandled Exception

Description:

Unhandled exception... Access to the path '..:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\AddIns\2020\HCAD_Revit_CALC_2020.addin' is denied. 

Solutions:

Cause:

The AddinAssistant was not run as Administrator. 
Solution:

When running the AddinAssistant, always make sure that:

  1. You run the tool as Administrator 
  2. You make sure Revit is closed.

To run a program as administrator, right click the executable and select 'Run as Administrator', shown below.
