Revit Based File (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Description:

No error, but when opening the file menu and opening Revit, the program freezes or stutters anywhere between 10 seconds - 1 minute. 

Solutions:

Cause:

You have a drive on your system connected via network, and it's offline or you're not connected to it. Despite that, windows still tries to connect anyways. 

Solution:

Go the the file located here: In Revit's install path (Typically C:) \Users\Your Username Here\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2021 (Or whichever version you use)

Right click the file Revit.ini and select edit with notepad or the text editor of your choice. 

Scroll down to near the bottom where you see the section headlined with [Recent File List]

Locate files located on that network drive and delete them, or if you don't particularly care about a recent file list, delete them all. 

After you remove the problem files / file path in question, launching Revit and opening the File menu should go back to being speedy.
