Revit Based HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Spacing and Layout Error Type: Command Failure for External Command

Description:

When trying to run Spacing and Layout, this error appears. Revit could not complete the external command... System.NullReferenceException

Also could encounter this error:

Solutions:

Cause:

This error is caused by pipe types with incorrect information. HydraCAD for Revit Update Ver 22.0.009 included new templates that had a few pipe types with no Pipe Segment type set. 

You can verifty if this field is blank by clicking a pipe type, selecting Edit Type shown below highlighted in red

Then in the next window, selecting the Edit box of the routing preferences. 

Under the routing preferneces, the Pipe Segment type will be blank, as highlighted below.
Solution:

Note: Please ensure your program is updated to version 22.0.011 or later, as this error was caused in version 22.0.009 and newer versions shouldn't be able to encounter this. 

 

To fill in this information, open the Hydratec for Revit toolbox by selecting Import from the latest Toolbox located under the Help section.

Under Families, select Pipes and make sure override is selected at the bottom, same as it is highlighted above. The select Continue.

This should restore any pipes missing pipe segment data to working order.
