Revit Based HydraCALC (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Hydraulic Calculations Function: Continue

Description:

This Calculation has gone 200 passes...

Solutions:

1.
Cause:

Sidewall sprinklers with a 0'0 length piece of 1/2" pipe connecting the sprinkler to the reducing fitting.

Solution:

Delete the pipe, move the sprinkler onto the fitting.

2.
Cause:

Problem with Tee family being used.

Solution:

Switched to the generic tee family.

3.
Cause:

Transition coupling type may not be recognized.

Solution:

Load the generic transition, coupling family. Switch the transition couplings to the Generic transition coupling.

4.
Cause:

Piping selected is not all truly connected so the attempted calculation has no solution.  ANother description of the problem is that the selected piping is divided into two or more independent islands.

Solution:

The solution requires that you return to the model, identify the separated islands and reconnect them before retrying the calculation.

This can be aided by keying Shift + n at the 200 passes dialog, finding the v50CalctempShowIslands.tmp file in "C:\hes\temp\".

The data in that file can be used to highlight the independent islands comprising your model.

This process is more fully described in the 1st 2 minutes of the attached video, and even more fully in the remaining 8 minutes of that video.
