Solution:

1. Open AutoCAD, go to Tools|Options and select the PROFILES tab. Create a new profile called; <>, (include all < & > signs), make it current and delete the other profiles listed. Click OK and close Acad. Try to run the configuration tool again. 2. The Acad installation created an empty folder of Profile names. Using REGEDIT, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD and select the appropriate version (R). Under the key you'll likely see two sub folders, eg. ACAD-E001 & ACAD-4001:409. E001 *should* only have one folder called 'INSTALL', yet on a computer with this error, there was also a folder called 'PROFILES' which was empty. Under E001-409 there should be **many** folders including PROFILE. If this is the case, delete the **empty** PROFILES folder in E-001 then try to run the configuration again. (12/18/15 GAB) 3. Make sure the user has Admin privileges, it is not good enough to 'Run as Administrator' (1/04/17 GAB)
