AutoCAD Based Calculations (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)
Description:
After calc area # is picked - dialog box runs through gathering information and closes with message "Failed to create file to send to calcs....Exiting"
Cause:
1. Three reference points on a stacked vertical pipe, most likely a riser
2. There is not a continuous path from the remote area to the source - some pipe is not connected
3. Objects are in LAYER 0
4. All mains and lines were drawn in SPRKDAT1 layer
5. Do not manually insert nodes SP01, SP02, SP03, etc.... or nodes DP01, DP02, DP03, etc..
Solution:
1. Redraw the riser with no stacked vertical pipes and reinsert the reference points
2. Try running checkups, it might find the disconnected pipe - if not, look carefully at the system model
3. Move objects out of layer 0 and into a nonsensitive layer
4. Lines must be in SPRKDAT2 layer - Mains must be in SPRKDAT1 layer
5. Nodes SP01, SP02, SP03, etc.... and nodes DP01, DP02, DP03, etc. are used for Sprig and Drop equivalent K-Factors. Manually inserting them will cause duplicate node errors. Note: You may use these node ID names if you uncheck the box for "Set up Drops as Equivalent K-Factors"
