AutoCAD Based Build 3D Risers (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Insert Fitting Via HydraList

Description:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Solutions:

Cause:

1. There are drawing objects in the 3D_DETAIL layer which should not be in this layer.

2. Microsoft .NET Framework Error Program cannot set defaults. Registry key may be missing. (and possibly String values as well)

3. Fabricated main with a made-on coupling in the FITTINGS column in the MAINS tab.

4. Old or bad template

Solution:

1. Isolate the 3D_DETAIL layer, remove the objects which don't belong (ie. anything that is not a pipe, valve, or fitting).

2.Edit your registry with the Windows REGEDIT application.  Navigate to... HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hydratec\HydraCAD\Ver50\3dDetail

There should be 2 keys.... InsertFitting & SetNewDefault Add the KEY SetNewDefault below 3dDetail

*NOTE* Normally the new Key has been enough to get this to work, however in one instance, missing the String values in SetNewDefault also caused the errors, so I exported and emailed the 12 strings and it worked for the user. [GAB 2/27/17]

3. Open Hydralist and replace the made-on coupling at the end of a pipe with NO FITTING

4. Start a new Hydracad default template and see if the fitting will insert, if so you will need to recreate your template file in this new template.
