AutoCAD Based Opening a Drawing (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Description:

After opening AutoCAD and a drawing, you have a dead area where you can't draw nor does anything display. Usually next to a compressed palette. Note in the image below how the crosshairs do not extend to this area.

Solutions:

Cause:

Unknown cause, but AutoCAD palette settings need to be adjusted

Solution:

Right-click the palette bar to expose the options.

Uncheck the Allow Docking option. The palette should undock itself from the top of the drawing area and reset itself to its last location.

*Note* - through observation, this seems to be more frequent in Acad 2025. A daily occurrence versus monthly in Acad 2024.
