Button: Insert Pump Error Type: Command Failure for External Command

Description:

Revit could not complete the external command... Name contains illegal characters


Solutions:

Cause:

The pump selected has a bad character in it.

In the example below, “:” is the unsupported character, located here... "...VMS-34 : 04..."
Solution:
  • Rerun the command
  • Remove the offending character (In this example, ":" ) from the name before picking OK
  • The pump should then be inserted as normal
