AutoCAD Based Build 3D Risers (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Description:

3D Details (3D Fittings) missing, only the skipoles are showing

Solutions:

Cause:

Autocad blip where Autocad forgets how to display the geometry of the fitting.

Solution:

Double click on the skipole for one of the missing fittings.

This will display a dialog box showing the names of current blocks that exist within the drawing, All of the 3d devices will start with a number and should appear at the top of the list, hopefully some of these you will recognize.

In the capture below, 4 devices were found – highlighted in yellow, the numbers starting with the “60” sequence are hangers.

We will need to type the names of the files for the next step. You may want to jot them down. Pick Cancel

We will be performing an “insert block” operation, you can do this the way you normally would insert a block into your drawing.

On the command line type “Insert” or “DDinsert” to bring up the insertion dialog.

Browse to C:\HES\HydraCAD\Ver50\Programs\3DFTGS (If you installed Hydratec for AutoCAD in a different drive, use that instead of C:)

For the file name, type in the name of the device from the previous list. In this case 26F1000060

When prompted…..you want to “Redefine” the block

Pick a spot in the drawing to insert the fitting and the other fittings of this same type should reappear, Erase the extra fitting you just inserted. Perfrom these steps for each type of fitting that is missing and they should all be visible now.
