Description:

Command Failure for External Command... Revit encountered a Family symbol is not valid for this instance

Cause:

This was caused by a pipe having a POL instead of an elbow at the end of a branchline

Solution:

Change the POL to an elbow to complete the connection, then attempt the command again.
