Solutions:

Cause:

Routing preferences of the pipe type specified have been changed or removed and are now invalid and causing an error. 
Solution:

Correct the routing preferences, the preferred way to do this is to reimport the pipe type from the toolbox. The easiest way to do the import is by selecting the pipes and override options, as shown below.

There is a chance you see a message like this when overriding the pipe families in the project.

This is safe, click 'ok' and nothing in your project should be changed and the error should be resolved.
